Equity and Social Justice (ESJ) Webinar Series
Advancing Health Equity for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities
Date: Tuesday, April 2, 2024
Time: 12 - 1 p.m.
Location: Zoom
According to an article in Health Affairs: “There are numerous health inequities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). They experience lower rates of preventive screening; higher rates of obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease; lower life expectancy; and higher rates of pregnancy complications. If that’s not enough, they have been at nearly six times greater risk of dying from COVID-19.”
This webinar will open the discussion on many of these disparities and offer policy solutions to advance health equity for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
