EDIB Forum

Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (EDIB) Forum

Dates: Monday, April 8 - Tuesday, April 9, 2024

Registration is now open for the Harvard-wide Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDIB) Forum which is an opportunity that will bring the University community together.

All Harvard affiliates are invited to join and learn more about how we can foster a community where every story is honored and uplifted. A Harvard Key login is required to register and attend.

The 2024 theme for the EDIB Forum is "This is Our Story." Following a historic semester at Harvard, it is crucial that we come together as a community to reclaim our story and narratives. External pressures and attention have created a tense environment where misinformation prevails, hindering our connection with our mission, purpose, and narrative.

At this year’s forum, we will explore the importance of sharing our narratives and listening to each other’s lived experiences. Our goal is to reaffirm our commitment to creating a campus community where everyone can thrive and honor their story. We will delve into how inclusive practices can ground new innovations around our shared humanity and combat hatred in our society through our educational mission.

The sessions will explore various topics, such as dialogue across differences, combating misinformation and hate on social media, how EDIB has advanced artificial intelligence and its possibilities, the power of storytelling, and engaging in intergenerational and intersectional work towards access and inclusion. These topics are crucial and relevant to our community today and as we look ahead. Approaching them with an equity-minded lens that incorporates a diversity of perspectives enriches the discussion and advances our commitment to inclusive excellence.

The EDIB Forum is a University-wide annual convening that will support our collective work of building a campus environment where everyone can thrive. Programming has been developed by the Harvard Office for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (OEDIB) in collaboration with the DIB Leadership Network and other key partners. The forum will engage the community in critical conversations; build individual and collective capacity to advance EDIB goals; and highlight university and school-based strategic efforts. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in active learning, networking, and engagement across stakeholder groups, Schools, and Units. This convening will ensure continuous EDIB learning for the Harvard community and supplement the critical work happening at the local level. All Harvard affiliates, administrators, alumni, faculty, fellows, researchers, staff, and students are invited to participate.
