This February HSDM is honoring and bringing awareness around African America Dentists and their contributions to the field of Oral Medicine. The series aims to build and strengthen our community by offering opportunities to learn more about: 1) the remarkable individuals that make up the Oral Health profession and 2) the important work being done in oral medicine and intersecting health fields. We are excited to share that Dr. Zerita C. Buchanan will be our keynote speaker for this inaugural event.
Zerita C. Buchanan, DDS (a 2022-2023 Joseph L. Henry Oral Health Fellow) is a fourth-generation dentist and a proud HBCU graduate. Her commitment to health equity led her to be recognized as a “Healthcare Hero” by her alma mater Spelman College. Her private practice, Dental Dreams, LLC, serves as an innovation hub for HBCU students interested in the STEM sciences. We invite you to join us to learn more about Dr. Buchanan’s professional journey as a dentist, entrepreneur, and public health researcher.
