2015 Residency Programs Showcase

Harvard Affiliated Residency Programs Showcase – September 12, 2015

The Office for Diversity Inclusion and Community Partnership, in collaboration with the Harvard-affiliated hospitals, hosts the Harvard Affiliated Residency Programs Showcase on September 12, 2015 at the Joseph B. Martin Conference Center at Harvard Medical School (HMS). As an expansion of the HMS Visiting Clerkship Program, this event provides URM medical students in their 3rd or 4th year from the New England region as well as other states with an opportunity to meet and network with Harvard affiliated residency program training directors, attending physicians, fellows and residents.  It is expected that the participating students would learn more about the residency programs that are offered here at HMS affiliated hospitals through this interactive and informal setting.

Comments from the Showcase participants:

"Meeting program directors/faculty and residents in my specialty was perhaps the most beneficial aspect of the event."

"Learning about the programs, meeting residents that talked about the different residencies and meeting  the program directors are my three goals. Everyone talked about the programs and answered all the questions that I asked."

"Well organized and informative. The panel discussion was best."

"The Showcase allowed medical students to have the opportunity to have questions answered that same day via live panel, panel members from a variety of programs and specialties.  It also allowed involvement of residents, fellows, and attendings, multiple program directors."
